Simply Asset Finance reports FY 2025 pre-tax profits of £3.4 million as it invests for next phase of growth

  • Revenues increase to £66mm as loan book grows to £532m
  • Launch of AI agent Kara and end-to-end payout functionality cement strength of Simply’s tech infrastructure for future growth
  • 45% increase in front-office headcount supports future origination targets

Simply Asset Finance, the specialist SME lender, has reported strong results for its financial year ending 31 December 2025, with pre-tax profits of £3.4 million and revenues of £66 million – a 9% increase on the previous year.

The year marked a period of targeted investment, as Simply accelerated the development of its technology infrastructure and sales capabilities to support future origination and the next phase of its growth. This strategy has already seen momentum building, with its cumulative loan origination rising by 25% to £2.05 billion and its gross loan book expanding to £532 million.

As part of this investment, Simply increased its front-office headcount by 45% growing its total workforce to 196 employees. This expansion has strengthened the business’ multi-channel offering, reinforcing its distribution capacity while positioning it to drive further growth in the years ahead.

The expanded team supports Simply’s rapidly growing customer base, which now exceeds 13,000, while its total agreements surpassed 23,000 in 2025 – a 23% increase on the previous year.

The launch of its new AI agent, Kara, has been integral in supporting the business’ operational scalability – enabling 30-40% year-on-year growth across payments, customer communications and processed proposals. Kara is also a central component of Simply’s new, market-leading functionality, giving vendor partners with an approved line of credit the ability to draw down funds in as little as eight minutes.

Crucially, Kara has been embedded across the organisation as a tool for all employees, unlocking productivity gains at scale and supporting a culture of innovation. This firm-wide adoption of AI is now underpinning Simply’s next phase of accelerated growth, driven by broad-based operational and technological advancement.

These developments set the stage for Simply’s ambitious growth goals in 2026 as it looks to engage in new strategic partnerships and broaden its lending ecosystem. Crucially, these technological and operational advancements served as a primary catalyst for its new milestone partnership with Lombard, part of NatWest Group, which will see Simply supporting Lombard’s reach in the scale-up market with its market-leading tech-enabled approach to lending.

Simply’s regional presence maintained strong momentum with the opening of a new office in Glasgow city centre, following a milestone achievement of £150m in funding delivered to Scottish SMEs since 2022. In May 2025, the business also recognised its continued success in the North West, as its Liverpool office achieved a record £50m loan origination to-date.

Mike Randall, CEO of Simply Asset Finance, commented:
“2025 was a landmark year for Simply. The progress we’ve made is a testament to the dedication of our team, the strength of our partnerships, and the trust of our customers. We’ve invested heavily in our platform, our people, and our capabilities, and that puts us in a fantastic position to lead the way in supporting UK businesses.

“Our investment in our front office is also proof of the scalability we’re continually building into the business – reinforcing our commitment to meeting customers where they operate and maintaining the face-to-face relationships that remain so important to us.

“As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited about the opportunities in front of us and confident that the foundations we’ve built will drive even greater success.”

Stefan Wolvaardt, CFO of Simply Asset Finance added:
“These results reflect a business that has grown strongly and sustainably over the last year. With revenues increasing and cumulative origination surpassing £2 billion, we are now entering our next phase of growth. After having increased origination in 2025 by 31% to more than £400m our ambition is to continue this trajectory and thanks to the investments we’ve made, we have full confidence in our ability to achieve this.”
